These
additional tips come directly from recent reports and are commonly
found in homes in the Houston area. Review each comment and see if it
applies to your home. Fixing these in advance of a home inspection
could save you some money and possibly a sale!
- Wood
form boards or form board stakes that are against the foundation should
be
removed. This is a condition that is conducive to attracting wood
destroying
insects.
- Observed items stacked against the outside wall
of the house
in one or more areas. Items stored against the house are conducive to
insect
infestation, including wood destroying insects, such as termites.
- Observed large tree(s) near house foundation.
Client should
consider removal of tree(s) or the installation of root barrier to
reduce
possibility of damage to house foundation from tree roots and moisture
removal.
- Remove all loose debris off the roof to prevent
damage to
the roof and/or to prevent debris from ending up in the gutters.
