A dripping faucet can be extrememly annoying. The constant dripping noise can drive you crazy, but more than that, a dripping faucet can be expensive. Most people don’t consider the cost and ignore the problem, but a dripping faucet can waste up to 3 gallons of water a day... a total of 1,095 gallons a year. That water bill would more than pay for the cost of repairs, or even a totally new faucet.
    
    There are two possibilities when faced with a dripping faucet,,, repair or replace. Both require you to turn off the water supply, either under the sink if there is a shut-off valve there, or at the main water shutoff for the house. To replace the old faucet, disconnect the stopper and the water hoses (keep a towel handy for leaking residual water), unscrew the nuts holding the faucet to the sink and remove the old faucet. Reverse the process for the new one.
